A school physical is an opportunity to protect your child’s health, support their development and catch concerns early.
If your high school student is planning to play school sports this year, they’ll need an electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) to participate. Florida law now requires this quick, noninvasive screening, which records the heart’s electrical activity and can help identify hidden heart conditions early.
Talk to your urgent care provider about whether your child should receive an EKG as part of their school physical.
At AdventHealth Centra Care, we make it easy to complete required screenings with compassionate, whole-person care — so your child can safely get back to the activities they love.
