AdventHealth Centra Care has COVID-19 antigen and PCR testing available for patients with a provider visit.

Can I come in for just a test?

When you come to AdventHealth Centra Care for a test, you’ll be evaluated by one of our providers (a physician or nurse practitioner) who will then administer the test. If you’re experiencing symptoms, the provider may also suggest treatment options during your appointment. You do not need to have symptoms to be tested.

What’s the cost of a COVID-19 test with insurance?

Centra Care accepts most insurance plans and will bill your plan if you’ve been exposed to COVID-19 or have COVID-19 symptoms. Your deductible or copay may apply depending on your plan benefits. At the time of care, you will be asked to pay your co-pay or deductible. Many insurance plans do not cover a COVID-19 test for work, travel or curiosity.

What’s the cost of a COVID-19 test if I’m uninsured?

Alternative resources for uninsured individuals who need COVID-19 services or other health care coverage include:

What’s the typical wait time for COVID-19 testing with a reservation?

Your time is important to us and we are committed to minimizing your wait times. Wait times may vary due to the nature of urgent care, the volume of patients at the facility and CDC guidelines established for patient safety.

What’s the typical wait time for COVID-19 testing without a reservation?

Your time is important to us and we are committed to minimizing your wait times. Wait times may vary due to the nature of urgent care, the volume of patients at the facility and CDC guidelines established for patient safety.

How do I know if I need a COVID-19 test?

If you’re experiencing symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, it’s important that you also get tested.

Coronavirus symptoms can range from mild to severe and include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

They will typically appear between 2 and 14 days of when you’re exposed to the virus.

Who can be tested?

Any patient can be tested with a provider visit at all Centra Care locations. Centra Care Kids locations in Florida can test patients aged 18 and under.

What should I expect for a COVID-19 test?

Both the rapid antigen and PCR tests consist of a nasal swab.

How long does it take to get my test results?

COVID-19 rapid antigen test results are ready same day. For patients who received a PCR test at Centra Care prior to June 23, 2020, please call 877-VIRUSHQ for questions regarding your results.

Does Centra Care offer COVID-19 Vaccines?

The COVID-19 vaccine is not currently being administered at Centra Care locations. COVID-19 vaccines are administered in accordance with CDC and state government guidelines. To be notified when additional vaccines may become available, register for alerts at www.CoronavirusVaccineAlerts.com.
